It is important for Clients to be aware that on-site Surveillance it is not a quick process and that there are no guarantees that any useful information will be obtained via this process, as it may be inhibited by local conditions and circumstances, also the activities of the subject of investigation themselves. Usually more than one operative is required, as well as multiple days, therefore Clients should give careful consideration to their timeframe’s and available budget. It is also important to note any kind of surveillance operation and/or monitoring of a person’s activities must be justifiable, necessary and proportionate. All such operations are preceded by a reconnaissance and Risk Assessment, after which a Tactical Plan is drawn up. Historically the traditional method of on-site ‘watching’ surveillance of an individual has been the preferred route of gathering useable evidence in Court. However in the 21st Century there are other equally, if not more effective, legally compliant methods available which clients may wish to consider. For example, vast amounts of personal information exist in the public domain which can be lawfully gathered and utilised to defend claims. Euro-Tec’s investigators are skilled at OSINT (open source intelligence) data gathering and can be relied upon to prepare a report for use as evidence in a court of Law. Therefore, whilst we at Euro-Tec offer a surveillance service we always recommend that initially activities of an individual should be investigated by way of OSINT. |
